Health & Nutrition:
Stress Management Options

Under Stress? Try one of our Stress managment optionsThe choice is up to you: Balanced Nutritional Program, Reiki and/or  Meditation. You may wish to try one component of this program or all three.

Balanced Nutritional Program

We live in a modern world with modern issues. Our air is polluted; our farmlands are being treated with chemicals, which run off in our drinking water supplies.  Our food supply is being laced with chemical additives, preservatives, synthetic hormones or being genetically modified. Even common household cleaning products, plastics, carpeting and paints contain chemicals that can be toxic.

Unless we go back to basics and start protecting, cleansing and maintaining our bodies, living an active lifestyle with less stress we will be inviting modern disease. Lack of energy, asthma, allergies, lowered immunity, infertility, ADHD, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, cancer, just to name a few.

Nutritional deficiencies and toxicities are at the root of most health problems.  Some modern “Band-Aid solutions” may result in drug-induced nutritional deficiencies and unwanted, even dangerous side effects.   It has become common to take another drug to alleviate the side effects of the first one.  The magic pill of the day may provide temporary relief, but at what cost? People face struggles in achieving optimal health.

Fortunately we have options.  We can look back to basics for answers.

  • Environmental factors:  clean air,  pure water, wholesome nutritious food, sunlight, healthy environment at home and at work

  • Mental attitude: perception of seeing things positive or negative

  • Lifestyle:  passive or active

  • Wholesome food

It means:

  • taking the time to drink pure water

  • eating wholesome foods with plenty of fiber

  • choosing the right fats

  • making sure proteins intake is adequate to support our bodies thousands of normal functions.

These are the basic elements, when used as primary health care, will build strong and healthy bodies.  Doing what we know we should do is the most difficult aspect of achieving our health goals, be they physical, nutritional or emotional.  Remember the iceberg that sunk the Titanic?  Because nine-tenths of it was submerged under water, the ship’s crew didn’t notice it until it was too late.  In the same way, the things that prevent us from getting to where we want to be in life are often the things we refuse to do or we can’t see.  When we learn to address these stumbling blocks, we become capable of executing that which we know we should do. Achieving proper nutrition as well as proper digestion requires taking responsibility.

Reiki  (Charlotte LeBlanc, Reiki Therapist Level III)
Reiki is an ancient Japanese natural therapy that helps re-harmonize and re-balance body and mind, improve health and enhance the quality of life.
What can Reiki offer you?

  • Create higher energy

  • Reduces Stress, restores energy

  • Creates many beneficial effects, including relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well being

  • Relieves chronic discomforts

  • Enhances the healing process and strengthens the immune system.

  • Helps liberate emotional blockages

  • Helps optimize medical treatments

  • Enhances personal growth.

Reiki is practiced with the client fully clothed as the practitioner gently rests her hands on or above your body.  Reiki is very effective as complementary health care. There are now hundreds of individuals as well as some organizations that are providing Reiki treatments to patients in hospitals. Integrative medicine is now the wave of the future.

Meditation
Since stress seems to be one of the central themes to several modern illnesses we must ask ourselves the following question?  What is the rush??  Humans need not only a sense of purpose in life, but a sense of peace, security and order to deal with the challenges of every day life.  The sense of urgency and the false deadlines that we impose upon ourselves is what gets our mind running on high gear and disconnects us with our true self.

Meditation has been shown to rebalance the autonomic nervous system.  With meditation, the over-stimulated life with attention directed outward becomes inwardly centered, focused and peaceful.  Various meditation programs have documented significant improvement in many common illnesses with regular practice.  This practice is so simple; it is right under our nose.

Given in workshops or one on one, the basic technique will give you hands on practice for meditation and visualization as methods to help reduce stress and live a balanced life.

The five most powerful tools in managing stress are:

  • A healthy diet

  • Exercise

  • Learning to say ‘NO’ – time management

  • Rejuvenation of your choice:  ex: signing, dancing

  • Meditation

Designed with accessibility in mind, Health Coaching programs, such as nutrition, Reiki and meditation are available as group sessions and one-on-one session.  For more information on health coaching contact us
