SOOTHING SUN EXPOSURE
Sunlight can be very good, since all life forces and plants depend on sunlight for energy. However, overexposure to the sun can be harmful to the skin and generally leaves one feeling extremely uncomfortable. For a natural, aromatherapy remedy, apply two of nature’s most soothing ingredients – lavender essential oil and aloe vera – to cool stressed skin. These two key ingredients are found in Young Living’s Lavaderm™ Cooling Mist, which is specially formulated to take care of your skin care needs during the summer months. Longetivity and Antioxidants
Summertime brings back memories of our childhood – vacations on the beach, endless days outdoors, and invincible youth and vitality. What seems like only a few summers ago looks is more like the endless days of summer gone by like a flash… The most sought-after products by aging baby boomers are age-defying skin care products and cosmetics that promise to reverse signs of aging. Fortunately, most senior boomers realize a key concept; youth begins on the inside. They also take health supplements to feel younger and look healthier. Evidence suggests that the most effective age-defying substances known are antioxidants. Colorful fruits and vegetables (organic) – five to ten servings per day – will supply protection against oxidation, the process of imbalanced oxygen molecules damaging healthy cells, commonly referred to as free radical damage. In our toxic environment oxidation occurs at a rapid-fire speed from poor diet, sun exposure, air pollution and contaminated water. And in reality, few people follow the dietary recommendations to guard against oxidation within the body. A recent study from the Scottish Agricultural College in South Ayrshire, Scotland, reports amazing benefits of thyme essential oil. The study determined that the essential oil maintained higher levels of DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) in the brain, liver, heart and kidneys of test subjects than those who weren’t given the supplement. DHA, an essential fatty acid, is shown to reduce levels of triglycerides and may lower the risk of heart disease. Drops in levels of DHA are associated with ADHD, Alzheimer’s disease, and depression. As DHA declines with age, cellular activity (particularly in the brain) is hindered. However, DHA levels remained significantly higher when test subjects received a daily dose of thyme oil. Preliminary studies are showing that thyme oil may produce similar benefits in humans. Thyme also has powerful antioxidant abilities. Orange essential oil is another potent antioxidant particularly significant to liver function but also protective of other body cells. Orange essential oil is 90 percent d-limonene, which is effective in maintaining adequate levels of glutathione in the liver, thereby supporting optimal liver detoxification activities. Studies suggest that d-limonene is highly protective and prevents abnormal cell growth. Clove essential oil measures 1,078,700 on the ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) scale, much higher than any other essential oil or any other known substance. To be complete, the body needs two types of antioxidants, water soluble and fat soluble. NingXia Red is a low glycemic juice and is supreme as a water-soluble antioxidant. Longetivity (with the essential oil of clove, orange and thyme) is equally important as a fat-soluble antioxidant. To learn more about the benefits of 'Switching to Compact Fluorecent Light Bulbs' click here
If every Canadian household switched just one incandescent bulb to a CFL (compact fluorescent bulb), annual energy costs would be reduced by $73 million and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions would be cut by almost 397,000 tonnes - the equivalent of taking 66,000 cars off the road. More details: http: www.nspower.ca/AboutUs/WhatsNew/detail4148.htmlCFL bulbs can be purchased at such places as Canadian Tire, Home Depot as well as many other places. The bulbs cost a bit more but last so long that they are still cheap at $3-4. The CFLs that do not start instantly (pre-heat types) will have a longer life than the "instant start" type. Every good choice make a difference for our next generation. Want to 'Take Charge of Your Life' click here
TAKE CHARGE OF YOUR LIFE
Most of us are born with good health. Over time though, this health begins to slowly deteriorate. As this process happens over a long period of time, we are likely to blame it on age. While there is some truth to that, the average North American is deteriorating at a far quicker rate than the rest of the world. Why? The answer: poor diet, processed foods, and a lack of physical activity. Another factor: the world has never in its history had so much pollution and toxic chemicals in the environment. Everyone seems to know how to clean their house or their car and keep their outer space maintained so it will not deteriorate, but when it comes to our own body no one has been taught what to do to keep it purring. My challenge to you is to take control of your health by completing the Renew Your Life program. This 6 step program is not difficult to complete and does not disrupt your everyday life. The payoff for you is better health and more energy than you have had in years. For those who consider themselves in good health, you will benefit from reduced toxicity and improved digestion – both elements that are vital to a long and healthy life.
Once you have completed the 6 step program you will have: Ø Significantly reduced the toxic load in your body. Ø Improved the overall function of your liver, colon, intestinal tract, and major systems. Ø Improved your digestion, breakdown of foods and nutrient absorption. Ø Created a more balanced intestinal environment. Ø Reduced or eliminated parasite infestation and candida overgrowth. Ø Reduced the risk of chronic degenerative diseases. Are you up for the challenge? We look forward to hearing your success story! For nutritional coaching contact: CJM LeBlanc HealthWorks, Centreville Mall, 121-342 Main Street, Shediac, N.B. Canada Land of the Free
What is freedom? Freedom starts at home. Personal freedom and peace pretty well go hand in hand. Society’s status quo in general consists of a life filled with chasing pleasure and running from pain. It takes great effort, perseverance and courage to cultivate our awareness that break our addiction to conditioned thoughts and reactions that were instilled in us by our entourage since birth. We are told that we should be happy, and that if we are not happy there is something wrong with us. But life is filled with both joy and sorrow. To live, feel and accept both as they are, just confirms that we are alive and sane. Through quiet times, away from the rat race, we can learn to be present with life as it is. When we STOP our mind, and observe our thoughts as a film, it allows us to see our conditioned tendencies and helps us be truthful and compassionate with ourselves. It gets us off the roller coaster ride. It also helps us discover that yes there is pain in life that is unavoidable, but there is also suffering that we create for ourselves. The transformation of our perspective can only be done in the here and now. It is a retraining of the mind in letting go of what we have learned that is preventing us from being totally who we are. We start to understand that we have been creating difficulty for ourselves (and maybe others) through our unrealistic expectation that we can resist the law of constant change. A lot of baby boomers are living this right now.
True happiness and freedom is being mindful of our impermanence and which give us a sense of appreciation for each moment. It also transforms our mind and heart to respond with kindness to any situation. There are only two things we can choose to live LOVE (kindness, compassion, truth, respect, honesty…) or FEAR (greed, control, jealousy, slander, power, abuse…). Everything else is derived from these two. We have the FREEDOM to choose. Living in a small community is a constant reminder of what life should be. People are kind. They still stop to let cars go by when you’re on a side street; they let pedestrians cross the street, even if it is not at a cross walk. Respect for the elders. Just little things… So Canada, are we free yet? Is war really freedom or is it fear of loosing power? Let’s celebrate Canada Day by having fun with our families, friends and community and with outmost kindness. HAPPY CANADA DAY! LET’S MAKE IT A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE… To learn more about HVP (Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein) click here
