POWER FOODS FOR A YOUTHFUL SKIN
A youthful skin in AN INSIDE JOB... Your skin is your largest organ and your body envelope. It protects your tissues, organs and bones, acts as a thermostat, a waste disposal unit, a defensive wall against bacteria and then some. Since your skin is exposed to the outside environment it often falls victim to abuse. Power foods nourish from within your body to create a healthy metabolism and cleansing system so that your skin will glow with youthful health. Power foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables and their juices offer you high concentrates of skin-nourishing vitamins, minerals, enzymes and fiber. Include whole grains for polyunsaturated fatty acids and roughage so that you are able to enjoy regularity. Internal cleanliness helps to give you external health. Nourish your skin with amino acids from protein foods such as lean meats, poultry, fermented dairy products such as yoghurt or kefir, seeds, beans, nuts. Cold pressed oils such as extra virgin olive oil, flaxseed or primrose oil also help by keeping our hormones in balance. Avoid sugar and salt in all forms because they upset hormonal balance and disturb metabolism, which may cause premature skin aging. Power foods are even of better quality when they are organic, which means free of pesticides, hormones or other added environmental poisons. Use power foods and help rejuvenate your skin, your body envelope, the barometer to good health and long-lasting youth. YOUR BODY HAS THE ANSWER
Discomforts that we take for granted may be signs of bodily imbalances. Mental fog, food cravings, skin conditions, dry hair, brittle fingernails, teeth or gum problems, allergies, constipation, diarrhea, moods, energy level, sleep patterns, body weight, heartburn, fluid retention, aching, cold hands and feet, migraines - and so on ... are all valuable clues about your unique nutritional needs. Your body may be telling you exactly what it really needs. Are you listening? You are unique. No one else has your fingerprints, so we also all differ nutritionally. Our ability to digest and assimilate nutrients also differs from person to person. This is not anything new. In 400 BC Hippocrates is believed to have said, "One man's meat (food) is another man's poison." Are you following a nutritional program that is a one size fits all? Does your diet provide everything you need? Are you confused about what supplements are best for your general health or even if you need any at all? There are many popular theories in our culture. The high protein/low carbohydrate, eat for your blood type, low fat, vegans, just to name a few. All these categories are still too simplified in order to cover our unique individuality. What is the best approach for you? The answer is not in a textbook or in a popular theory. It is in you. It is up to you to look to the clues your body provides. Your body has the answers, if you know what questions to ask. If you are tired of guessing what kind of specific nutrients your body needs in order to function well write to us at: charlotteleb@rogers.com or http://www.wellness-healthworks.com/ or visit us at CJM LeBlanc HealthWorks, 121-342 Main Street, Shediac, N.B. CLEANSING AND WEIGHT MANAGEMENT
While there are no true shortcuts to help you lose weight, cleansing prior to or during a weight loss program has been shown to increase success. Both in terms of the amount of weight lost and in keeping it off, a thorough 30 day cleanse is not only useful for helping lose excess weight, but is also an essential part of achieving and maintaining good health. A 30 day cleanse will help rid the body of toxins by stimulating your body's seven channels of elimination (the liver, lungs, colon, kidneys, blood, skin, and lymphatic system). By cleansing the body it becomes more efficient. This plays a key factor in weight loss and weight control. This general cleanse will also help your body prepare for the increase in physical activity that you are about to start. It works to improve your digestive system and enhance nutrient absorption. This in turn will help increase energy levels and metabolism - IMPORTANT ELEMENTS OF WEHGHT LOSS AND MAINTAINENCE.
